Golden Retrievers are famously gentle, patient, and eager to please, making them one of the most popular family dogs in Australia. They excel at obedience, love water, and form deep bonds with children and adults alike. Their friendly nature means they rarely meet a stranger, though this also means they make enthusiastic rather than effective guard dogs.
Grooming needs
Goldens have a dense water-repellent outer coat with a thick undercoat that requires brushing two to three times a week to prevent matting. Professional grooming every six to eight weeks keeps their feathering neat.
